DIY Omnidirectional Mobile Base for my bandsaw (Under $50)

When you’ve got a small workshop, it’s pretty common to have your machines on wheels. It makes it easy to move tools into position when you need them, and tuck them away when you don’t. The downside though, is that most mobile bases use two swivel wheels and two fixed wheels. That means turning or moving them sideways often turns into a bit of a ‘20-point turn’… which isn’t ideal in a tight space. I looked into buying an omnidirectional base, but even the cheaper options were pushing over $200 AUD. So I figured with a set of workbench casters, I should be able to build one myself for under $50? Big thanks to Monport for sponsoring this project. Having the larger bed size made a huge difference. I could use full templates without needing to split the cuts. There’s no commentary in this one, just time in the workshop, straight to the point. Most of it’s pretty self-explanatory, but if you’re interested in plans, let me know. LINKS: Casters - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/405590844135
