I combined two brilliant box joint jig concepts into one

I've wanted to build a dedicated box joint jig for a long time. While there are plenty of great box joint jigs already out there, there were two designs in particular that really inspired me. The first was @woodfather template-based system, which makes creating different finger layouts incredibly simple. The second was @matthiaswandel screw-driven advancement mechanism, which allows the work piece to be positioned quickly and accurately. So I set out to see if I could combine those two ideas into a single jig. The result is this box joint jig, featuring interchangeable templates, a screw-driven advancement system, and a digital readout for precise positioning all while using a standard saw blade. In this video I'll show you how I built it, how it works, and some of the design decisions that shaped the final result. A huge thank you to both Mario and Mattias for the inspiration behind this project.
